Nothing can make me laugh as much as Slayer memes do!
Being a big fan of Slayer, it’s easy to find those memes entertaining, often the reason of my boisterous laughter. And throughout some time, I have collected Slayer memes for me to look at when I’m in a bad mood.
Here’s some of my favorites.

especially during their concerts.

you’ll know how it feels to be their fan.
The same applies for the other bands featured in this meme.
It’s actually fascinating how most of their songs gives you this certain
Satanistic and very, very morbid feeling.
I just can’t explain this sensation, but it happens.
But still, I’m not a Satanist.
I’m not really sure if this is some kind of sick joke,
or the dude who did this is just dumb as fuck or drunk.

PULP Summer Slam XV: Angels Descend
About a few weeks ago,
it was my favorite time of the year again.
None other than the biggest annual metal event in my country,
PULP Summer Slam XV: Angels Descend.
I prepared myself for this shit.
For long multiple weeks, I have waited patiently.
And it was all worth the wait.
Months before the said event, I was trying to guess the bands coming to my country this year. I was assuming that they were bringing Avenged Sevenfold because the event poster had similarities with A7X’s logo, complete with the wings and skull. But I was wrong!
The lineup consisted of 7 international bands:

Plus, additional 8 local bands:

Greyhoundz

Once again, my parents were very hesitant letting me go to this concert. So I bought my ticket even before asking permission. They got no choice but to let me. I wasn’t able to watch all the bands that day though, the 4th band was already up on stage when I arrived with my friends.
The first international band that performed was Chthonic. I was figuring out how to pronounce the band name and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in this. Chthonic originated from a neighboring country, Taiwan. Said it was their first time performing in the Philippines and they were honored. The crowd, in response to that, showed extreme enthusiasm throughout their performance.

By the way, Chthonic’s bassist named Dorris Yeh was surely an eye candy. Hehe.
The next performer was The Word Alive. I must admit, I’m not a fan of their music. Most of their songs were just full of breakdowns, in my own opinion. But their drummer, Luke Holland, was actually very good.

Next in line was Escape The Fate. I know they aren’t as heavy as the other bands in the lineup but Escape The Fate used to be my favorite when I was in high school. Seeing them up close was certainly an experience I will never ever forget.
It might be embarrassing to confess but I was actually fangirling when they came up on stage, I was even carried up on the shoulders by one of my friends (refer to my “About Me” picture) during their performance. Haha!
Craig Mabbitt did the deadliest stunt of the night, climbed up the steel stage trusses and stage dived on the crowd. Sweet!
Soon after, performances from the so-called 3 Kings of the local metal scene followed. Greyhoundz, Queso and Slapshock, respectively. There were a lot of people who were looking forward to see these folks back on PULP Summer Slam and they lived up to moshers’ expectations. They simply nailed it, specially Slapshock. Even when I was far from the stage during their performance, I was very certain that the crowd was on their peak while they were up on stage. I personally think that they were the best performers of the event among all the bands that came.
Then it was time for heavier metal dosage, Carcass came up on stage with brutally metal background images during their performance. It was my first time hearing them, and I said to myself that time, “Looks like I’m going to have a new favorite band.”

The most awaited headliners of the event, Cradle of Filth and Killswitch Engage, brought life to the exhausted metalheads. Cradle of Filth, all geared with the gothic stage set-up, delivered a fiery experience with Dani Filth’s blood-curdling screams and with Jesse Leach back on Killswitch Engage, Filipino fans welcomed them with heart as they dedicated one of their songs for the Fallen 44.
Last but definitely not the least, Suffocation! They were totally heavy as fuck. They exceeded my expectations. It was already around 1:30 AM when they played, and that just made me wish they were placed on an earlier set for they deserve a fully energized crowd.
And that was one helluva long night, I got home around 10:00 AM the following morning. This event is still, and I think, will always be my favorite time of the year. Now on their 15th installment, I’m expecting more or the upcoming years.

Movie Review: The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh
“And sometimes, late at night, you still feel the loneliness
and you’ve learned that pain doesn’t give up so easily.”
The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh is a horror movie that’s somehow dramatic and sad. It all takes place in a house, which the main character inherited from is mother, with lots of old religious artifacts, such as angels statues and figurines. Thus, making the setting all pumped up and ready for some horrific scare scenes.
What I like about it is that it creates a certain atmosphere that can keep you hooked on the film, making you crave to know what’s gonna happen next and what mystery lies ahead while you’re preparing yourself to get scared. It actually has a dull beginning and middle part then it starts to get interesting but yet again, it just keeps you craving but never gives enough satisfaction.
Throughout the movie, I was expecting for something “more” to happen like more explanation, more details, more substance, more scary scenes, more, more, more. But I felt like I didn’t get those at all.
I was like, “Huh. That’s it?” at the end of the film.
There’s not much characters in the film either, generally focused on the main character named Leon. But kudos to him, the main actor was able to pull it off even though he was going solo all the while. Plus, majority of the details you’ll get comes from a narrator.
Moreover, there’s this weird monster in the film which looks like a gargoyle. I actually do not see the point of that creature, it’s as if it was just included in the film to make it seem scarier. In my opinion, the film can go on without that for it proves to be irrelevant.
Here’s my favorite scene.
It’s not the kind of movie that can cause you to lose sleep. Instead, it might just leave you feeling melancholic and wondering about life at the end. But the way it builds up the atmosphere that can give you chills is something that makes it a good horror film because as some of you might notice, horror films nowadays usually just rely on cheap scares.
For those seeking intense and non-stop terror, I wouldn’t really recommend you to watch this for you will not find them in this film and you’ll probably end up disappointed. But for those who are into “quiet” horror films, this one is for you.
“See You In Two Days,” That’s What He Said
I just find this experience very funny and scary at the same time.
This is some personal stuff. If you’re not interested, skip.
With the help of the internet, you can know and meet people from around the world.
This is where I met this someone who kept sending me weird messages.
I shall refer to this “someone” as Mr. Anonymous.
I’ve known Mr. Anonymous for almost a month already.
We never met and hopefully, never will.
He was very nice to me at first, until…
So this Mr. Anonymous keeps insisting that I show him my stomach to which I do not agree because it’s just so fucking weird (maybe it’s a fetish but still…) and it’s awkward. Moreover, I do not see any valuable reason why I should do it. I do not exist to please others.
Mr. Anonymous went into a frenzy.
He claims he’s a demon or some kind of supernatural being.
Que horror!
This is one of the weirdest things that have happened in my life. Despite that, I bear no ill grudge against Mr. Anonymous. Who knows? Maybe he’s just a normal person who’s suffering some condition.
But if something really goes wrong in the next two days,
you have an idea what happened.
Lamb of God live in Manila 2015
March 6, 2015:
I got a motherfucking invitation to walk with Lamb of God in hell that evening.
Oh, the things I did for this event! I skipped eating lunch multiple times just so I could save enough money to buy myself a VIP ticket. My parents, at first, didn’t allow me to go so I had to create some “drama” to let them know I was dead serious. It made me look ridiculous pulling off that drama but…
There was only one thing in my mind,
I really wanted to see them live.
And so, I did.
I actually arrived early on the venue, they said gates open at 6:00 PM. So I was there that time but the thing is, the event started at 9:00 PM. I didn’t get bored of waiting because I met one of my online friends there, for the first time. Going to concerts really makes way for friendship. It’s fascinating how a shared preference in music can bring people together.
First of all, I didn’t recognize Willie Adler right away. He seemed to have lost a lot of weight and he was wearing I cap, I was expecting to see his long hair. And one more thing, one of their sound engineer (I think) actually looks like Scott Ian. The crowd actually shouted “Anthrax!” when he came up on stage for the setup.
Seeing them live made me love them more than ever. I admit that there were two pieces from their setlist I only heard for the first time that night. For me, the songs that really got the crowd going were Redneck and Laid To Rest because I can clearly hear the crowd singing the lyrics. No wonder why though, those were two of their most famous songs anyway. Their last song, Black Label, made way for a wall of death. What a good way to end the concert.

The event lasted only for an hour and a half, I wish it lasted longer but it was all worth it. At the end of their set, they decided to give some souvenirs to the crowd such as guitar picks, drum sticks and copies of their setlist. Too bad I wasn’t lucky to get one of those stuff, better luck next time!
Now, here’s a recap video from that event. Somewhere in that video, you can actually see me there; wearing glasses, laughing and chewing a gum while my friend was being interviewed. I was interviewed too but good thing, they didn’t put my part on that video. I would be embarrassed for the rest of my life. *awkward laugh*
That night was certainly a night to remember.
I’m looking forward to getting another motherfucking invitation to see Lamb of God again.

Behind Every Poster
Isn’t it fun to wake up seeing the face of your favorite artists or musicians first thing in the morning?
That’s why I have posters. It’s a way to start my day good.
Collecting posters isn’t an easy thing, though. Especially if you’re collecting posters of musicians or bands that aren’t appreciated by majority. It’s really hard to find their stuff. What I usually end up doing is that I buy magazines, and rip off the pages I like and stick them up my wall. Sometimes, I go to events and if I’m lucky, I buy posters there.

Thanks to a magazine that had a lot of pages I like.
I actually feel like my wall became more “metal” because of the new ones I have.

So why do people collect certain things? There are actually various reasons why and I believe that people collect stuff they like, not only because it may have a huge monetary value, but because it has a special emotional attachment to them. And in my case, I collect these things to preserve the past, it reminds of the concerts I’ve been to, the bands I’ve seen and the extreme happiness I had there.
Behind every poster is a story and experience I won’t forget.
PULP Summer Slam XIV: Children of the Damned
THROWBACK!
Summer is my favorite time of the year, not only because it’s vacation but because it’s time for the largest annual metal festival in Southeast Asia, PULP SUMMER SLAM 14: CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED.

There were local bands who performed, also featuring seven international bands which included Crossfaith, Death Angel, Kreator, Hatebreed and The Black Dahlia Murder. The headliners for this year were Bullet For My Valentine and Asking Alexandria.
I wish I had VIP tickets, but I ended up getting Gen Ad. No worries because those tickets are somehow pit tickets too! That’s what I call fun, mosh pit.
My favorite performances that event were those by Kreator, Hatebreed and Asking Alexandria. I love those bands! Pretty much got me all hyped. I only got a few photos during the event though.

The event was fine to me, I enjoyed it. Even pushing my way through near the stage with the help of friends. Unfortunately, I had to suffer consequences such as (1) losing my phone, (2) losing my Cannibal Corpse shirt, (3) having a random crowd surfer fall exactly on me, (4) wrecking my glasses, (5) getting soaked in my own sweat as well as from others’ sweat and (6) severe back and neck pain.
Another weird experience I had during the Slam was being asked by a couple of strangers to have a picture with them. They might have mistaken me for someone else. Hahaha.

I’m proud that it survived the event.
After the concert, I certainly looked like I was all wasted from all the sweat and dirt and exhaustion. After I slept, woke up with my entire body hurting, I didn’t have a voice from all the screaming I did.
But I regret nothing at all. It was really fun. I can tell myself with confidence that next summer, I’ll be going back to attend and mosh!
